Daya Apparel Exports (Pvt) Ltd. which is a key contributor to the successful journey of the Daya Group of Companies which was established in 1992, in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. Presently we have a highly motivated, young work force of 3000, working in 50 lines in our factories located in the Ampara & Monaragala Districts.

We have ventured in to several garment factories and marketing offices locally and overseas. Anoma Apparels and Digamadulla Fashions which are sister firms of the organization has already commenced operations in increasing production to meet customer demands. The first factory under Digamadulla Fashions in Namal Oya was declared open in January 2008. Another 5 factories under the 50 factories program will be declared open by end 2010 under Digamadulla Fashions. Our overseas marketing offices are located in Hong Kong and UK under the name D&A (Pvt) Ltd.

The high team spirit and the quality consciousness of the workers, when blended with the superior management skills have helped us to speed-up in our journey towards success. This is reflected by the testimonies given by the worlds leading buyers such as, Wal-Mart, Tesco, JCPenny, K-Mart, American Eagle etc.

Board of Directors

Daya Apparels which is a family owned limited liability company is managed and directed by the Gamage family. The Gamage family was initially involved in the construction industry and the parent company was initiated by Mr. Daya Gamage’s father who was a famous businessman in the Ampara district. The Director Board comprise of Mr. Daya Gamage as the Chairman, Mrs. Anoma Gamage as the Managing Director and Mr. Janaka Wijayasekara as the Director.

Mr. Daya Gamage

Mr. Daya Gamage is the current President of the Industrial and Commerce Board of the Ampara district. He is a leading businessman in the eastern province of Sri Lanka with over 20 years experience in various industrial sectors. Mr. Gamage was awarded Gold for the “Most Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year” award in 1997 and was awarded Silver for the “Entrepreneur of the Year” in 1995 and 1996 for the North Eastern Province Industrial Large Category. He has also won the “Best Exporter” Gold award in 2004 and Silver in 2003.

Mr. Gamage is the chairman of the Daya Group of Companies which comprise of Daya Trading Co (Pvt) Ltd, Daya Constructions (Pvt) Ltd, Daya Electro Mechanical and Engineering (Pvt) Ltd, Daya Transporters, Daya Metal (Pvt) Ltd, Daya Asphalt Concrete Manufacturers (Pvt) Ltd, Daya Plastic and Engineering, Comfort Living (Pvt) Ltd, Relieving Pharma (Pvt) Ltd, Sevanagala Suger Industries Ltd, Daya Aviation (Pvt) Ltd, Daya Shipping, Manjaree Hotels and Digamadulla Fashions Ltd.


Mrs. Anoma Gamage

With over 20 years of experience as Managing Director of the Daya Group of companies, the wife of Mr. Daya Gamage has proven her track winning the “Best Woman Exporter” Gold Award continuously in the years 2003 and 2004 and bagging the Silver award for the “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2005.

Mr. Janaka Wijayasekara

Mr. Wijayasekara joined Daya Apparel Export (Pvt) Ltd in 1992 as General manager and was appointed as a director in Daya Apparel since 1997.and director in D&A (Hong Kong) in 2003. He has 30 years experience in Apparel industry and held top management positions in many leading apparel institutions before joining Daya apparels.
