Daya Apparel Exports (Pvt) Ltd. which is a key contributor to the successful journey of the Daya Group of Companies which was established in 1992, in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. Presently we have a highly motivated, young work force of 3000, working in 50 lines in our factories located in the Ampara & Monaragala Districts.

We have ventured in to several garment factories and marketing offices locally and overseas. Anoma Apparels and Digamadulla Fashions which are sister firms of the organization has already commenced operations in increasing production to meet customer demands. The first factory under Digamadulla Fashions in Namal Oya was declared open in January 2008. Another 5 factories under the 50 factories program will be declared open by end 2010 under Digamadulla Fashions. Our overseas marketing offices are located in Hong Kong and UK under the name D&A (Pvt) Ltd.

The high team spirit and the quality consciousness of the workers, when blended with the superior management skills have helped us to speed-up in our journey towards success. This is reflected by the testimonies given by the worlds leading buyers such as, Wal-Mart, Tesco, JCPenny, K-Mart, American Eagle etc.

 

The Future

At present although we do have capacity to enter into the Ladies/Gents denim market we have not tapped such areas, but do hope to in the future. Daya Apparels which specializes in vintage garments hopes to increase its output by expanding its capacity in the near future. As a result a new venture with the financial support of GTZ under the Daya group of companies has been formed as Digamadulla Fashions Limited. The maiden factory at Namal Oya which expects to provide employment to 500 personnel was declared opened in January 2008 under this venture. An employees’ trust fund has been initiated by Mr. Gamage on behalf of the employees of the Namal Oya factory and 33.5% of the profit of the factory will be shared with the employees.

By the end of 2010 Five more factories of the fifty factories program will be opened under Digamadulla Fashions Ltd. in order to develop the eastern province by making it the 3rd largest economic province and provide job opportunities to over 10,000 youth while catering to our customers worldwide. Already the initial construction work has been started in factories located in Weeragoda, Walathapitiya, Digawapiya and Sammanthurai.
