Ventures
Daya Apparels have partnered with GTZ and several other organizations and have commenced several ventures in the apparel sector in order to increase output to cater to meet its increasing customer demands, to market its products to the untapped international market, to provide employment to the unemployed of the north eastern province of Sri Lanka and to uplift the economic conditions of the province.
The first among our partnerships is Anoma Apparels which is the sister company of Daya Apparels which commenced operations in 2000 with a massive initial capital. Anoma Apparels which is a full subsidiary of Daya Apparels provide employment for large number of persons. Within the past year it has contributed to produce very high quality pieces thereby achieving its primary goal of increasing the groups output to meet client demands. Anoma Apparels contributed to the groups profit in an immense manner in 2007.
D&A Hong Kong which is the marketing hub for East Asia was initiated in 1998 with the aim of expanding its customer base in the East Asian region and creating a more client friendly atmosphere. D&A UK the marketing office was opened with the aim of expanding client base in the European market.
The latest among its sister firms, Digamadulla Fashions was declared opened in January 2008 with the financial support from GTZ. The first among its factories in Namal Oya was declared open in January 2008. This factory utilizes the latest of technology used in the apparel industry and will provide employment to 500 youth in the area.
GTZ has jointly ventured with Daya Apparels to provide financial and technical support to initiate 50 more garment factories in the eastern province of Sri Lanka in order to provide 50,000 employment opportunities. Initial work has begun in Weeragoda, Walathapitiya, Deegawapiya and Sammanthurai factories.
